In keeping with Bansal's technology policy of providing continuous hi-tech products the color sorter allows high efficiency sorting of grains/cereals such as soybeans, peas, peanuts, and milled rice, some of which are considered impossible to efficiently classify. Because of superior technology, it can be applied for many types of rice; it sorts brown rice, white rice and parboiled rice with no adjustments. Thus sorting, chalky, discolored transparent, white resin, stones and glass simultaneously.

OPERATION
Rice falling from a vibratory feeder is singulated and accelerated in inclined channels. Front and rear cameras view each kernel once it reaches the viewing area. An air ejector is triggered to divert a kernel from its trajectory when kernel color, as seen by either one of the cameras, exceeds a set sensitivity (or threshold) level. Diverted kernels fall into a "reject" container, while free-falling kernels fall into an "accept" container. Individual grains are distinguished during sorting to remove rejected grains. Small defects are sensed and rejected with high accuracy. Thus, significantly fewer acceptable grains are lost to the rejects. Simplified product processing and repeatable set-up ensures sorting consistency, reducing the need for frequent calibration and skilled operators.
